Step 1) measurement

The measurement you require is dependent on where you want to fix it, inside the window or outside the window. For the former, you will need inside mount window treatment, and for the latter, you need an outside mouth. 

A) Measurement for inside mount

To measure the width, measure the inner width of the window casing. Measure top, bottom and centre width. Record the narrowest. 
For height, measure from top edge to bottom sill. Measure right left and centre. 
Also, take measurements diagonally. 

B) Measurement for outside mount

To measure the width, record your desired width. Make sure it covers the window opening from all three sides by one and a half-inch. 

For height, record a measurement of your desired height. Make sure you include a headrail.
