The song was released in 2016, which is the time when you could see a lot of awareness come up and self slowly sneaking through cracked walls of false attitudes of society but being filmed in 2015 you can expect was not much out even loud in the teenager's head.
"The Runaway music stirred conversations of self-discovery and self-love. The TikTok Aurora filters made the way for the song to come up and helped it climb up the billboard chart because of self-love hype of that song and marketing. " (“www..wikipedia.com"). The video is part of her first debut act in the play Running from the Wolves and the first Album, My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, the video features her in a Forest where she is running from someone. ("www.crystalcrushmagzines.com") The concept is self-love and acceptance she is running from herself in the video.
Runaway by Auror a - Music element
The element that makes the music is the GM chord, downtempo, and repetitive Progressive chorus that runs along with high notes of the shrilling voice of Aurora that hits high and low notes.
The high and low notes coupled with Gm minor make it a masterpiece and Nobel laureate-worthy music. Though yet underrated the Electro sounds that bring a ghastly undertone with the innocent chorus. The ghastly undergone which is a distinctive feature of the music, that brings up self-discovery, running from one's fear.
Runaway song by Aurora: In-depth Analysis
The Aurora Runaway is a great marketing success; no doubt being associated with amazing labels that promoted her music. The promotion till Aurora filters was fine, until her team her labels even used Opportunistic marketing, when Billi Elish had an interview with Dazed Digital, Aurora tweeted “We get sexualized by the world, and yet shamed for being sexual,” We get sexualized by the world, and yet shamed for being sexual. She continued. They want to possess you and own you and even decide what you get to do with your own body. We are not free until all of us are free. ("www.dazeddigital.com").
"The world has tried for many years to burn strong women, who were brilliant, brave, and free-spirited. The devil is human, or the devil is a woman. You can burn the skin we live in, but you cannot burn the witch away. "("www.twitter.com").
Aurora was born in Norway in 1996. She has been closely attached to her mother and her sister who belong to the fashion industry. She was even chosen by the big Norwegian production when her singing video went viral and her video was of great interest to the government as well.
In an interview she told how the inspiration came to her she said, "because my lyrics to ‘Runaway’ came out of nowhere. A few years later, something happened to me (well, the whole of Norway actually), and then the lyrics made so much sense to me. I sat in my house on the usual piano I always write on, and it looked like an hour, I think.” She continued: “I remember it was completely quiet; it was gray outside. " Not light, not dark, not dry, not wet, not cold, not warm – it was kind of one of those out-of-place kinds of days. It was kind of like time was standing still. ("www.wikipedia.com") the interviews stirred conversation of self-discovery and journey to success.
Conclusion
Music is the subject of well-marketed strategy, until brought along. It became a female archetype from song of self-love with her tweets, though speaking of feminine problems, but doesn't fall in brackets feminine heroism, due to one marketing strategy which was a consequence of opportunist marketing which did justice with melody, but not with the brutal social context it was already brought up.
The ghastly undertone which was a villain to most of us in self-love journey. I would love to hear it again and, as the song is on the note of self-appreciation it hits me well and emotive chords are always striking.
