About the story
A couple from South Carolina moves to Indianapolis, to experience a new phase in their life, but an exciting new phase in their life turns into their worst nightmare. On 10 November 2015, Amanda Blackburn was found dead in her home.
The Blackburn family was a beautiful family Devay Blackburn, the pastor, Amanda herself and two lovely children with a baby. Though they spent very less time in Indianapolis, to the neighbor it was a cheerful and friendly family.
The case of Amanda Blackburn’s murder trial took everyone by surprise, especially to the neighboring family,
On 10 th Nov 2015 a 28 year old Pastor Davey's wife and pregnant mother Amanda Blackburn who has recently moved to spread church on north side indianapolis was found dead. Raising an alarm for everyone in the city and neighborhood.
At 7 am in the morning Davey Blackburn, the church pastor, reads the Bible and left for the gym, and return back from the gym at 8 am; on the driveway he receives a call from his friend.
Bantering on the call he reached home, and stood outside to finish the conversation to not wake his toddler.
He entered the house and found his house was burglarized and his wife half naked near the fireplace, fighting for life. He immediately rushed to check on his toddler upstairs and was relieved to be unharmed.
Hello dialed 911 and called the police, and ambulance for medical help , for 2 days Amanda received medical help and on 12 november she had to be given life support.
After a few hours of support the 28-year old mother is found dead. Meantime, The Police began investigating the scenario and the suspects. During the investigation, the police received various calls for burglaries in the neighborhood.
One of the neighbors reported that she found her patio screen torn down and her macbook, and cellphone misising when she returned home. Moreover, she has a bottle of beer lying on her bedroom floor, which doesn’t belong to her.
On parallel investigation with Blackburn house in which there was a similar scenario. The Police found cigars which no one in the Blackburn family smoked.
The next day police again received a phone call from a Blackburn neighbor who reported several items missing including the giant tv set and automobile.
The reports of Amanda Blackburn autopsy revealed that she was shot thrice before she died.
Next month, a neighbor witnessed 30 year old local Dioron Gordon committing burglary in the neighborhood who was linked to Jalen watson.
Larry Jo Taylor, a man with a record of several burglary was caught investigating the case. Nearly a few days apart the trial of murder opened in the court house.
The trial of Blackburn murder began at court number 29, Grant Hawkin presided over the jury. The Mairon county prosecutor Ryan Mears fought the trial for Amanda Blackburn.
Court pleaded with Devay Blackburn to narrate what he saw that day, he said,” I had on the driveway returned to answer my friend on cellphone, I paused and found Amanda face down, naked on the floor near the fireplace and Christmas tree. She was unconscious and bleeding, so he called 911.”
The neighbors were brought to the witness box and asked about the burglaries they encountered. One of the neighbors who happened to live 4 houses next to Blackburns, said she found her house messed up, patio screen torn and liquor bottle lying on the bedroom floor, which almost looked like they stayed long in her house, when she wasn’t home.
Another burglary case was testified by a neighbor. The neighbor said, when he returned home he found things absent that won’t even make sense to him. How did the robbery happen? Not only a small item but A heavy TV set was also robbed from the house in his absence.
The case went on hold and remain covid unsolved until covid 19. After covid, the witnesses testified in the court. The court trial found Watson and Gordon guilty for the burglaries, including in the case of blackburn. Both of them were asked to reveal who killed Amanda for the Plea deal they revealed it was Larry Jo taylor.
Larry Jo Taylor was again found guilty, when Watson and Gordon, allegedly they with Larry Jo Taylor entered the Blackburn house when they saw Devay leaving the house. The judge Grant Hawkin didn’t agree with the same as he has judged a few of Larry's mistrials himself.
In the interval of the trial, Devay overheard Gordon and Larry about the murder and Waston asking for an apology for testifying against him. On investigation again Larry is found guilty for murder of Amanda Blackburn.
