[The new blossom]
6:30 am —It is a new day and new blossom in Joginder Nagar. Yellow blossom shine in the heaven and on the earth. A smile on the face of Rishabh looking out of the window. Night could not bring him illusion of sleep; thoughts were wild enough. Dream went crazy but sunshine from the window took away the opportunity to achieve the lover’s pride. She was about to kiss his lips.
Though that was an illusion, still his mind want to consider it reality. The hearts pumping and cheeks blushing and eyes fixed at her window.
7:00 am— a morning blissful breeze of spring on his heart. She opens the malevolent gate, her yellow curtain open. The show begins, spotlight on her. she lock the gaze with him then raise the eyebrows. Oh! man way she raises the eyebrow; he could just smile back in reply.
She goes away but he still can feel her there. Staring for exact 15 minutes breaks with the sound. Its his mothers voice. A usual alarm to Wake.
He retreats back to his bed. Mom comes upstairs and finds him awake.
She utters, “oh, you have already woken up, nice”. She went back to the kitchen.
7:50 am— He went for a bath, a long bath. Daydreaming about her. He kept dreaming about the kiss but his mind never felt the feeling of a kiss. This kept him curious. He kept stressing his mind but the imagination can’t bring the sensation in his mind.
8: 30 am— on the dining. He remembers he is forgetting something important. He stress his mind but nothing comes other than her beautiful lips. He stresses again the he realise he was studying whole night.
He ate his breakfast hurriedly and climbed up the stair to mug up the concepts at the last minute. The he looked at the time. Its 8: 40 am.
8:45 am— he rushes out of the house, looking for bus. The bus could be a little costly than cycle but this only way to reach at college and also mug up the concept.
8:55 am— he catches the fastest bus to college. He opened his bag and took out the psychology encyclopaedia. He started mugging up the concepts. The people around him kept staring at him because he was chanting the concepts very loud.
9: 20 am— he reached the college but kept mugging up the concept but before reaching the lecture hall, he has swallowed every word of the whole book. He was ready.
10:00— it was time for psychology lecture. The teacher was shouting roll numbers. Everyone answers their roll call.
10:15— teacher wished everyone luck for the test and promised the checking will be lenient. The teacher was quite friendly and her friendliness reminded her of sherry. Answer sheets were being distributed. Everyone was ready for the paper but Rishabh was lost in his dream. He does not realise Nammit has entered the class and is waving him.
10:20— Nammit is by his side and say,” how was the holiday. Did some fun”, but Rishabh didn’t respond. He nudged him and he subconsciously utter,” I love you darling”. Nammit gets disgusted and utter,” what the hell you are speaking”, then he realises, Rishabh is not talking to him. He is lost somewhere in seas of fantasy. He can see his lips tempting for a kiss.
The start and for first fifteen minutes, he is fantasy bubble. Not until a sick front bencher coughs, he realises where he is. He goes through the question paper and he only knew few answers of few but that didn’t bother him. He felt an ecstasy while writing the answer. Rhythm of love had done a magic. He smiles and write, like an artist weaving treads creative masterpiece. He writes, writes and even continue writing when the lecturer comes to collect his test sheet.
10:45— it was time for the next class. Nammit say, “How was the test pal? “
Rishabh says,” wonderful just like her eyes”.
“So, you are in love”, Nammit says.
“Maybe I am”, Rishabh says in intoxicant tone.
10:50— teacher arrives at the podium and speaks aloud the attendance. This time Rishabh misses his attendance he is lost in his dreams— talking to his beloved. He could see her beautiful eyes, wild lips and star like shiny hairs. She is dressed in a beautiful purple skirt and white velvet top. Her pendant hanging beautifully on her neck.
A second thought runs about a pearl necklace on her neck. She would look beautiful adult women with that pearl Amritsari necklace. Thus, she will grow into a woman one day. She will be his wife. She will his wife. He will present her the necklace as an anniversary gift.
He will work hard to afford a pearl necklace. He will work harder to gift her gold or diamond necklace. She will look amazing when she will wear the saree.
Again, the sick frontbencher coughs and Rishabh comes back to reality
1:00 – the two lectures and a lunch break has passed and people are taking their seat again for the last lecture.
He thinks to himself,’ too bad I write anything in the test and missed two lectures’.
He laments at lost mark and unfinished notes, but it didn’t had the potential to disturb him for long, he again retreat to his fantasy world— fantasy world where He and sherry play adult life.
He imagine all sort of things and compare his life with his parents, he says in his mind ‘ how silly we will look when we’ll quarrel like mom and dad.
Though he find his adult life little silly he believes, it will be enjoyable; moment by moment growing up and raising project children— at this point his face turn red with shame and before he could imagine both of them naked there is an another cough from the sick classmate, bringing him back to reality.
4 : 00 pm- On coming back to reality this time he doesn’t Nammit to tease him but see room getting empty, that could only mean he has dreamt all through his lectures; the college is over.
He boards a bus back to his home and on the way, he notices couples siting together in the bus.
Uncle and aunties boarding bus with their babies; he looks at each one of them, he utters,” they’re so beautiful”.
He keeps on admiring the babies and the minute he reaches his station; he didn’t realise he was travelling back home.
Conductor shouts and bus stops, with his awestruck mind halting finally.
He boards down the bus, come to his home wherein he finds his mom dressed in beautiful blue saree. Looking at him she asks him to dress up soon; she tells we’re going to see sherry’s art.
For a while, he freezes and he possessed by his desire to ask ton of questions, how should I wear? What should I wear? What they’ll like to see me in? but his mother put it down by saying that I have selected a beautiful suit for you—wear it.
He rushes upstairs, look at his suit, a matt white with filled shirt; a latest trend of the time; all thanks to cinema
He showers, he brushes, he dresses and he perfumes himself elegantly.
5:00 pm – they reach in sherry house, were sherry’s mom and sherry are ready to welcome them with welcome drink.
The door opens, sherry’s mom welcomes them and sherry offers them coke, the welcome drink of rich society.
His mom is impressed with the hearty welcome.
Sherry’s mom takes his mom to the drawing room, it’s very glance is so artistic: a oil painting of Rajasthani women posing with their better halves, a tread painting of a farmhouse in Kashmir and aesthetic Himachal painting of shepherd rearing a flock of sheep on Shivalik range.
“These all painting are made by sherry when travelled across India”, says sherry mom, “Sherry usually clicks a photograph of the moment and recreate when we’re in hotels”.
“Oh sherry, you’re also an excellent a photographer! so multi-talented!”, his mom utters.
Sherry bring ask the maid to bring us some tea and you show Rishabh your photograph collection.
